as-yellow-flower Kasey Kaelin, Preschool / Pre-Kindergarten Teacher Kasey grew up in Sammamish, WA. While attending high school, she took a course called “Teaching Academy”, where she worked in her high school’s preschool and did an internship in a local 3rd grade classroom. This experience solidified her love of teaching. Her first two years at Washington State University, she majored in Elementary Education. Through different volunteer experiences and service learning projects, she realized that she enjoyed working with younger children and switched her major to Human Development with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education and Care. Kasey completed two separate practicums with Pullman’s Head Start program and thoroughly enjoyed each experience. After moving back to the West side of the state, Kasey worked at an early childhood program in Issaquah. In her free time, Kasey enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, and spending time outdoors.

as-teacher-joy Joy Myers – Lead Preschool Teacher My earliest experiences working with young children began when I was completing my B.A. in psychology at the University of Washington. A child-care center that a =greed to participate in memory research for which I was collecting data, hired me to teach when the study was complete. My next adventure was starting my own school, Celebrate Life Preschool, in Burien. After 3 years, my husband and I moved to Oregon where I pursued an M.A. in education with an early childhood emphasis at Linfield College. After returning to Seattle, I was a teacher’s assistant in a PTA sponsored after school program for kindergarteners. Two years later I was hired to work with the same teacher during the a.m. kindergarten class. From there I transitioned to preschool teaching for the last 14 years. My son, daughter-in-law and daughter are all “20 somethings.” As a family, we enjoy playing board games, hiking and zip lining. Music has always been a big part of my life, especially singing and piano playing. I love being a part of providing a nurturing, engaging and loving environment for children to grow and thrive in!
